Introducing the new HumHub App

Today we want to share some nice news with you. We have just released the beta version of our HumHub Mobile App for Android. You can become app testers, download the beta version and be among the first people to use our HumHub App.

At the moment, the first version allows you to log into your existing network, enjoy the mobile HumHub experience and receive push notifications. We have an exciting roadmap ahead: In next steps, we will implement new features like Multi-Language support and many others. Also, our app for iOS will be released shortly.

Please note that it is required to have “pretty URLs” activated to be able to use the mobile app (https://docs.humhub.org/docs/admin/installation#pretty-urls) and we also recommend the "Push Notification" module. It allows the installation to be saved in the app after login and enables you to receive push notifications (https://marketplace.humhub.com/module/fcm-push/description).

Nice, that should it make easier for those, who struggle with the WPA.

First issue belongs to the connection oft the app: Seems, that it cannot handle a HumHub instance in a subfolder:
communtity.for-example.xyz/dashboard -> works
for-example.xyz/dashboard -> works
for-example.xyz/community/dashboard – doesn’t work

In this case the regular website content is shown, not the HumHub instance in the subfolder.

Hello I am also experiencing this with installation in a subfolder. I am on 1.15.0-beta.2 with the current Android app. The .htaccess file has RewriteBase /folder enabled.

Great. Thanks.! Wouldn"t it be nice not to have to connect again and again. I mean loging in first time and when starting the app next time directly see the dashboard of the still loged in page.

@Jürgen Klühr this should be the case. If you test with this https://community.humhub.com/ instance you’ll see it works.

Check that the "Push Notification" module is well configured:

Then, test the configuration: once logged in into the mobile app as an admin, go here:

And click here:

You should have a mobile app notification appearing on your Android phone.

Hey guys. Got a new mobile (Android-Version 13) installed the app and it’s not working. When opening, I see the HumHub-Logo for a short time then it gets dark and nothing else happens. With the older mobile there was no problem.

@Chris Lang mobile notifications for the Messenger module are currently on development. They should be available in a future version.

I saw, installed and tried to connect to the website domain where my HumHub is installed, but it didn’t recognize the HH instance. Finally uninstalled the app with a bad experience, sorry.

@Andreas Fleckl Please create a post about your issue on @Installation and Setup space so we can discuss it, because it’s related to a specific configuration of your HumHub instance (probably related to your base URL, e.g. if you use a proxy)

When editing text in a post it’s not possible to change textstyle because editing menue (copy, ..) is on top.

@Minette Henriksson We have recently done some work and resubmitted to the Apple Store. If Apple asks for more features, we will add them and resubmit. So it's hard to say when it will be available, but we are actively working on it and it's the number one priority for the app.
